Golden Volunteer Opportunities

Grateful Goldens could not help Golden Retrievers in need without volunteers.  We are always in need of people who are willing to donate a few hours of their time to help in the operation of our rescue.  If you have a passion for Gold and can help, we want to hear from you.  While our biggest need is for foster homes (click here to learn more about fostering) there are many other opportunities for you to get involved.  We guarantee the rewards of seeing a Golden get healthy, happy and a home far outweigh the effort.

Opportunities Available:

​

Intake - Volunteers are needed to assist in locating and facilitating the intake of Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes in shelters, found abandoned, or owner turn-ins.

Transport - We are always in need for people who can transport a dog.  Transports may be from a shelter to a foster home, from a foster home to a vet appointment, etc.

Home Visits - Volunteers are needed to meet with potential families to conduct a home inspection.  A form is provided to capture the information.  An experienced volunteer in home visits will mentor you until you are comfortable with the process.

Adoption - Volunteers are needed to assist in reviewing applications received from potential adopters, checking vet and personal references, and working with them to become an approved adopter.

Volunteer Recruitment - We need individuals who can assist with recruiting new volunteers. Having an adequate number of volunteers helps Grateful Goldens operate smoothly and efficiently and ensures longevity of the rescue.

Events and Fundraising - Grateful Goldens is looking for volunteers to lend a hand to organize our many community events.  These events serve to educate the public to what rescue is and to raise awareness of us.  We are always looking for new and fun ways to get out in the public and welcome your ideas.  Help with grant writing and identifying potential corporate sponsors is greatly needed.

Website, Social Media, PR, and Blogging - We are always looking for volunteers with computer skills to assist with website maintenance, social media, PR, and blogging. If you have these skills and are interested in sharing your expertise with us, we would love to hear from you.
